My Layouts

Good morning!

First I'd like to show you a couple of the fabulous freebies I found from yesterday and this morning. There were so many yesterday, I'm bummed out I missed a lot of them. If you click on the link, it will take you to the blog where you can find the freebie.

Boyerville Scraps - Andrea's part of the mega kit for fall. Check out her blog for the other parts.

Lil Romance from KimB Designs. Such a soft kit. Great for those lovey dovey layouts and of course wedding photos. Heather has a terrific tutorial on how to recolor on Scrap Your Art Out. She's also included her beautiful blooms and they are available for commercial use!

Kristine has been so sick for the last few days, but she still managed to get an add on for her Spiced Toffee kit for everyone. That's dedication. I'm sure that most of you have already grabbed Susan's Tatum's Day collection, but I wanted to make a special mention of it. Raspberry Road Designs is an awesome place and Susan has the biggest heart. She did this collection as a request and it's truly one of the most special collections I've seen. If you haven't seen it or read the story behind it, please click on one of the 2 previews below and go check it out. I guarantee you won't be sorry.

Lindsay Jane has a fab old burnt frame on her blog. Check to make sure you haven't missed out on any of her other freebies. DerekMDesign is a new one for me. I don't know of too many men in the digiscrapping community, let alone a designer - I'm lovin on his Halloween kit.

Also the preview below is just that a preview. Cate made up this kit for a design challenge and is thinking of releasing it. If you like it, stop by her blog and let her know. Keep an eye out for it. I think she will.

For those of you who read and responded to my blog from yesterday. Thank you. I didn't advertise it because it wasn't really scrapping related and I didn't think that anyone would want to read about my trials and tribulations. We didn't stay at the house last night, went down to the camper instead, but it looks like it was a quite night in the neighborhood. I prefer to believe it was just a group of coincidences and a random act of violence and nothing to be concerned about. My old man has other ideas. Enough said.

I Rak'd Andrea earlier in the week with Heather Manning's Dirt Don't Hurt kit and she did this magnificent layout that I wanted to share with you.Credits from her blog "I used Heather Manning’s Dirt Don’t Hurt papers (my RAK from yesterday!) and her alphabet is there, too.The Altered Faerie, girl’s wings and the Fresh Foliage elements are by Alabama Stone Thrower. Bugs, gravel and faerie dust are stock PSP tubes." I just love the little fairie wings.
I've got some challenges I had hoped to get done last night. Have a few hours today to work on them before a party tonight. Also have to do a last minute post frenzy over at SBB for their "Queen of the Chatterbox" contest for Sept. I can't believe the month is over already. Amazing.
Hope you all have a fab. weekend! Until next time - scrap happy!!

What is this world coming to???????

Great night for tv. I have 5 hours of tv shows packed into 3 hours. Thank God for tivo. Get through Survivor, kinda boring if you ask me. Get through Grey's, until the Christina tells Alex that she misses Burke and bam. I hear a noise. Shannon is out of bed and flying out the door. Our neighbors across the street tell us that someone just hit our cars and took off, her husband and a friend who's a cop hot on their tails in pursuit. Turns out they didn't hit just 1 but 2 and took off both driver's side mirrors. Shannon, well he jumps in his truck and goes looking for anyone. Then a different person flies by us at about 45 miles and hour. Now, Shannon, he's pissed off, so he jumps in his truck and goes down to the apt. complex and yells at her to slow down. The cops come and we all stand outside for about 45 minutes trying to piece together what happened. So I come back in and it's 10 minutes til the template crop at SBB. Finished that off, great template by the way. And all of a sudden I hear 3 gunshots and a car peeling away. After crawling off the floor and calling 911, we spent another hour outside with the cops. Luckily nothing was hit. We think it may just have been a retaliation for his yelling. Now I know that his yelling was not the right thing to do, but why WHY would anyone try to solve anything with firing a gun? I just don't get it. Now I don't live in a bad neighborhood. As a matter of fact, the office that came out said it's been over 9 months since he's been called out to our subdivision. I just don't get it.

In light of these events, I don't know if I'll get any freebies or layouts posted. It's already 1 am and I know that 7 will come real soon. If I get any sleep at all. Check back on Sat. The drama's bound to die down.

Until then, scrap happy.

Got it started at home.

Ok, I've been working on getting this blog entry set up for over 2 hours. lol I started at home, knowing the troubles I've had at work. Good think it's been over an hour since I logged on here at work. Let's see how long it takes. grrrr

Ok, had a great time last night scrapping. Got inspired by my visit to my cousin and her son. And I had 2 challenges I needed/wanted to get done. Jett is my youngest cousin and her dad is and has been my favorite uncle. I spent most of my time with their family when we would come down to visit family growing up. When I moved to Central Ohio, it was my uncle who opened his home to me. That was 9 years ago. Jett's all grown up now and has an adorable little boy of her own now. Here are 2 of the layouts I did last night. Click on lo for credits.

Yesterday I got to do my first RAK. Granted it was someone else's products but I got to deliver the news. It was so much fun and just a great feeling. Almost as good as getting a RAK myself. That's the great thing about working with the designers I do, they are so generous. You never know when some lovin will come your way. Thanks so much to Andrea & Cate for giving a chance to make their day.

Here are some of the fab freebies I downloaded this morning while working on the blog. Check out the other links on the left for more great freebies too! Susan over at Raspberry Road is bound to have yet another beautiful kit up. She is just so gracious and works so hard.

Great overlay from Janosch's blog.

Great sampler from Pillowgirl and she's having a contest to win $10 for her store.

Here's the adorable Xavier kit I mentioned yesterday from Fishingmom Designs. Isn't the bear just the cutest....

Here's Andrea's newest sampler. Check her blog for the other part that goes so well with it.

Love anything that I can use for those pages of my dogs. Tainya-scrapsnack has this adorable kit on her blog.
And lastly this adorable word art from DigiScrapDepot. This is just about the most precious word art I've ever seen. Love the shoes.

Have you seen the Blog Action Day info on my and others blog? It's a really cool idea and I'll explain more about it tomorrow. Let's hope that my call for help with this Blogger issue will be answered by then. If you have any ideas on how to help me fix it, let me know. It's driving me crazy & it's a short trip.

Until next time, scrap happy!

Is it blogger or my employer????????

Had my blog all written out this morning in my mind. Did it on the way to work, half asleep still. I got here at 8:45. It's now noon and this is the first chance I've been able to get into my blog. And it wasn't just my blog, I couldn't leave comments for others on blogger either. Did anyone else have problems? I didn't think so, since it seemed some of my faves updated their blogs and they're on blogger too. I think my IT guys are messing with my system. First they made me take my PSE off because it slows down the system. (yeah, I guess they're right on that on) but if they mess with my ability to blog and leave comments on other blogs, well then I guess I may as well just look for a new job. lol. Ok, maybe not that serious, but I have a LOT of down time and if I don't have something to do, I will literally go nuts.

I went and saw my cousin and her 6 month old last night. It had been awhile since I'd seen them. Boy has he grown. But I guess that's what babies do. I took a ton of pictures but didn't get them uploaded into my computer cuz I was busy chatting away on Hello and uploading freebies last night. So hopefully tomorrow I'll have a few photos if not layouts to share with you.

Ok, let's get down to business. It's Humpday and that means lots of freebies. Here's a few that I was able to find. I was going to give you previews, but it is taking FOREVER to upload them. Grrrrr.

Heather Manning as a great paper sampler - if you like her Dirt Don't Hurt then check out her blog for a great Halloween treat.

Wenchd Grafix - Kristine has an alpha that goes with her Spiced Toffee kit.

KimB Designs has a beautiful mini kit that Kim did as a birthday present for Sylvia - one of her CT

Bunny has a sampler that cordinates with her beautiful new Perfectly Pansies kit.

Melanie Ann designs has a sampler - Chocoberry Creme - terrific colors on this!

Raspberry Road Designs - Susan has a cute collection of date bottle cap tops. She's also revisiting some of her older designs. These are only going to be available for a few days, so if you missed any of her fantastic designs - run, don't walk over to her blog to check them out. The insane thing is she's taking requests for scrappers. She is amazing!!!!

I was looking for a boy kit last night and found just the cutest one. It's a collection that Fishingmom is doing for her grandson Xavier. The bears in it are just adorable!!!! Ifyou have little boys this is perfect and the bears will work for girls too. Make sure you check it out.

Looks like the computer server is about to crash. Will update more later. Ok, I'm back and I've decided it's definately the company and the stupid server they have us on. grrrrr. And I lost the link to the Xavier kit.looking for it as I type.

I know I missed a ton of freebies. But then you all know where to go to find the best of the best.

I got a nice suprise and just wanted to send out a Thank You. Cate or Absoluteartist1 has me linked on her blog. That was quite a nice suprise for me. Cate, I sent you 2 different PM's. email me please!!!

Thanks again for reading my meager little blog, in such a sorry state today. Until next time - Scrap Happy!

Dirt don't Hurt

Heather Manning's new kit Dirt Don't Hurt has been released. If you didn't get a chance to see the sneak preview of it here yesterday (I jumped the gun) Here it is again. I will tell you that the previews here just don't do it justice. I had so much fun playing around with this kit. The 2 layouts I have in yesterdays posts and last night I was getting really dirty with some pictures I took of a cornfield. I just can't decide if it needs any journaling or if I can get away with just a simple one word title. If I decide, I'll post the completed layout here. If you want to check out the new product, just click on one of the previews. It will take you to DSO and Heather's store there. If you stop by her blog, you can give her some ideas for tomorrow's humpday freebie. She wants to use the kit somehow. A great way to get a little piece of this.
Did you get a chance to watch your favorite Monday night show? Premier week is on. Now Monday night is comedy night for me, so I loved the CBS shows. Can't wait for Thursday night on ABC - Ugly Betty & Grey's Anatomy and i think I'm gonna check out Big Shots. What looks to be your favorite? What new shows are you excited to check out? Thank God for Tivo is all I have to say.
Until next time- scrap happy!

My little corner of the world

I started literally from scratch. I was not a paper scrapper. I had no graphic design experience, heck very little art experience. I was in the true sense of the word a "newbie". I feel quite fortunate to have found a home where newbies are welcomed and encouraged. I was guided gently around the vast world by some very caring people. People who I will now follow to the ends of the scrapping world. Now I'm branching out. I'm seeing that this scrapping community is much like our own world - huge and varied. I've found sites that are much like my home site, welcoming to all. I've found sites where being a "newbie" trying to break into their little circle is almost a sin and greatly impossible. Now I know that I'm not a "wow" scrapper, I'm not an up and coming designer, heck I haven't even started to give my "creations" away. But I am a member of this community. My blog may be insignificant now, but one day, who knows. If you are reading this, Thank you. These comments are not directed at you. The ones who need to read it, never will. But I know that I've gotten it off my chest. If you are reading this, ask yourself one thing- What did I do today to make someone feel welcome in my community? Leave some love on a layout? Post a welcome on a forum? Leave a comment on the blog of a designer who always has freebies for everyone. Say hello to someone who stopped by my blog? Everyone is new at some point in their life. Remember how you felt, who helped you along and spread that feeling.

First day of fall??

It's supposed to get up to 90 degrees here in Central Ohio. Kinda blows the first day of fall feeling out the window. Football weather means sweatshirts and flannels, not tank tops and shorts. I know, quit complaining, soon it will be freezing then I'll really have something to complain about. Did you have a nice weekend? We had a good time at the campground. Played in my 3rd ever horseshoe tournament. Didn't win it all, but I didn't go out in the first 2 rounds like I have in the past. I actually beat this years "most improved" player. Had a few lucky tosses and a good partner that carried me most of the way. But I did hit a ringer to win the game, so I was pretty proud of myself. Since I've only played 3 times.

Went through some major computer withdrawal though. Got home last night to a new kit to play with from Heather Manning Designs. If you like dirty and the grunge look, then this kit's for you. Take a sneak peek. There's a complete set of papers, torn and curled edges and elements with
alpha. It should be over at her store at DSO shortly. Here's a few layouts I did with it.

Well my Buckeye's had an awesome game on Sat. 58 to 7 against Northwestern. Now were are 4-0 and looking to improve that record on Saturday against Minnesota. It's at Minnesota this week and it's a night game! Time to party!!! Sat. was Ohio State's 500th game in the Shoe and it was a big event around here. But then again, all the games are. I love college football.

I'm sure I missed a lot of great freebies being gone this weekend. I'll see what I can find for tomorrow. Until then, scrap happy!
